U.S. News and World Report will soon release a report showing that Americans have very little confidence in those leading society's most significant institutions. Of the major societal institutions, Americans only expressed moderate confidence in medicine and the military. Other major institutions, like Congress, the executive branch, religion, and business were given low trust scores. The study was conducted using survey with respondents "asked to rate their confidence in the country’s leadership on a scale from 1 to 4, with 4 representing the highest confidence."
